Welcome to the Lysted Seller Handbook — your go-to reference for everything you need to know about selling on the platform. This guide covers listing requirements, fulfillment responsibilities, delivery methods, payment terms, and how to handle situations when things don't go as planned. It also outlines your financial obligations and tax reporting responsibilities as a seller on the platform. Whether you're just getting started or looking to sharpen your process, we recommend reading through the full handbook before your first sale. By selling on Lysted, you agree to our Terms of Service. When in doubt, this is the first place to check — and if you still have questions, our support team is always available at [email protected].
Table of contents:
Section 1: Listing Tickets
Before you list — Requirements that must be followed:
You must own every ticket you list. Speculative listings of any kind are strictly prohibited — given this requirement, we do not permit listings with TBD sections/rows. You may be asked to provide proof of purchase at any time. See Proof of Purchase for what constitutes acceptable documentation and how that process works.
You must list the exact section, row, and seat numbers from your purchase confirmation. Inaccurate listings are one of the most common causes of cancelled sales and penalties (which can be ~200% of sale price and sometimes higher for high-profile events based on the cost to sub).
Sales cannot be cancelled once made. There are no exceptions.
To comply with marketplace requirements, same-day orders must be fulfilled within 15 minutes to prevent potential cancellation.
Cross-listing policy: Cross-listing is strongly discouraged. If tickets are listed on Lysted, we recommend removing them from all other platforms (personal StubHub accounts, etc.), as Lysted cannot manage or remove listings posted directly elsewhere. If you choose to cross-list and it results in a double sale, you will be responsible for any broken orders that occur.
Prohibited ticket types — do not list:
Tickets from third-party platforms requiring buyer account setup (DICE.fm, TodayTix, Ravina, Gigs and Tours, KYD Labs, Lords, SeeTickets transfer-exclusive events - note that this is not a comprehensive list)
Free, youth, charity, or donation-fee tickets
Nominative/personalized tickets requiring customer information in order to be admitted to the event (e.g, buyer's name, email, or birthday)
Student tickets
Non-event tickets (fast passes, grounds-only passes)
MLB SROs (Standing Room Only)
Will call, local pickup, or walk-in delivery
Piggyback seats
Tickets that require account surrender delivery method
Tickets with delays that do not lift within 12 hours of the event.
Parking listings: Due to new marketplace policies, Lysted can no longer dispute parking ticket cancellations from any third party providers (e.g. ParkWhiz, Spot Hero). Sellers must follow new restrictions when listing parking, such as distance limits, restrictions on offsite/third party parking passes, and lot descriptions.
Distance Limits: Parking lots located more than 1 mile from the venue may be subject to automatic cancellation.
Walking Time: Listings may be canceled if the walk to the venue is reported to exceed 15 minutes—this is often based on the buyer's experience and may vary.
Lot Descriptions: Inaccurate or missing details about walking distance—especially for lots over a 10-minute walk—may result in penalties.
NO Offsite or Third party parking sites will be allowed to sell on barcode integrated sites (i.e. Parkwhiz) There is no guarantee that the marketplace will accept the delivery method sold due to their agreement with the team/league/venue.
How to list your tickets manually
The steps below cover how to manually create a listing in Lysted. If you'd like Lysted to automatically list your tickets and handle fulfillment, we strongly recommend setting up automation — see Listing and Fulfillment Automation for a full walkthrough. Automation is free, requires no extra steps once configured, and is the best way to ensure your orders are fulfilled on time.
Click the + button or Add Inventory in the top right of Lysted
Search for your event by name and venue
Enter seat details: quantity, section, row, seat number, ticket format, seating type, list price, and cost
Add required disclosures — mandatory for anything affecting entry (21+ events, ADA) or sightlines (obstructed/limited view). Automation does not reliably add disclosures — this is always the seller's responsibility
Use Split Type to control how buyers can purchase (Default is recommended)
Select exchanges and Publish
Note: If you're on automation but need to manually list for any reason, add an internal note specifying which account the tickets are in — our team can still manage fulfillment from there if all other automation requirements are met for the order.
General Admission seats or Secondary market purchases: If you bought through a secondary marketplace and don't know your exact seat numbers or you have General Admission tickets without assigned seats, so long as the section and row remain accurate, you can use four-digit placeholder seat numbers (e.g., 1000–1003) until you receive confirmation. Listing specific venue seats you haven't confirmed can cause fulfillment failures.
Listing on barcode-integrated sites: Some leagues have official partnerships with specific resale marketplaces, with primary ticketing systems directly integrated. To sell tickets for those leagues on these marketplaces, your listings must meet additional requirements:
Exact matching required — Post section, row, and seat numbers exactly as they appear in your account. For example, if your tickets show as "C208," list them as "C208" — not "Club Level 208."
No masked rows or seats — Row and seat information cannot be hidden when selling on barcode-integrated sites. If you need to mask your row details, please contact our support team for further clarification.
Resale eligibility — Your tickets must be resale eligible at the barcode level before listing. Transferability does not equal resale eligibility. Group tickets, student tickets, discount tickets, and visitor team tickets are most often not resale eligible. Sellers are responsible for undelivered orders due to barcode restrictions.
Note: When barcodes are added or tickets are sold on integrated sites, the team's ticketing staff can see this activity. If you prefer the team not see your resale activity, use internal notes to exclude those marketplaces from your listings.
Current league integrations (as of 7/18/2026)
League | Barcode-Integrated Marketplaces |
MLB | StubHub, Ticketmaster, Vivid Seats, Gametime, Ticket Evolution |
NFL | SeatGeek, Ticketmaster Resale |
NBA | Ticketmaster Resale, SeatGeek (select teams) |
NHL | Ticketmaster Resale, SeatGeek (select teams) |
NCAA | SeatGeek, Ticketmaster Resale (AM teams = teams using Ticketmaster Account Manager as their primary ticketing platform) |
MLS | Ticketmaster Resale, SeatGeek (select teams) |
MLB note: Only teams with Ticketmaster season ticket accounts (i.e.,Padres, Braves, Yankees) are integrated with Ticketmaster Resale. SeatGeek is barcode-integrated with any team or venue for which they are the primary market.
Section 2: Fulfilling Your Orders
Automated Fulfillment (Strongly Recommended)
Lysted uses Sync to automate listing and fulfillment at no extra charge. When properly configured, the system automatically lists purchased tickets and transfers them to buyers. If automation fails but all requirements for automation for the order are met, the Lysted team will manually fulfill around the week of the event.
For the Lysted team to take responsibility for fulfilling your order, the following must be true for every purchasing account associated with any ticket in the order:
Each purchasing account is included in the internal notes of your listing
Each purchasing account is added to your Logins tab (Settings > Logins) — if an account isn't supported and can't be added, you are responsible for fulfilling those orders manually
Each account's credentials are accurate, or auto-password reset is enabled
No SELLER WILL FILL note is present on the listing
Email forwarding is enabled for each account referenced in the internal notes
If an order has multiple purchasing accounts and even one of them isn't fully set up per the above, Lysted is not responsible for fulfilling that order — even if part of it happens to be automatically fulfilled.
Note: The maximum number of purchasing accounts permitted in an internal note is three. If you exceed this limit and automation can't fulfill the sale, you will need to manage fulfillment yourself.
To set yourself up for automated fulfillment, you need two things:
Email Forwarding — mandatory. All purchasing email accounts must auto-forward to a single catch-all Gmail inbox, which then forwards specific emails to Lysted's system. The filter below should be applied to your purchasing accounts when setting up forwarding to your catch-all inbox and on the catch-all itself. Your catch-all then handles forwarding to Lysted. Use the following filter string in the Subject field:
{order} OR {purchase} OR {tickets} OR {ticket} OR {receipt} OR {confirm} OR {Purchase} OR {password} OR {reset} OR {authentication} OR {verification} OR {code} OR {account} OR {sign} OR {transaction} OR {request} OR {transfer} OR {deliver} OR {verify} OR {print} OR {thank you} OR {accept} OR {"you're all set"} OR {"FIFA ID | Validate Your Email"}
If using Hotmail/Outlook, use Redirect instead of Forward. Without email forwarding, Lysted will not responsible for fulfillment — responsibility falls entirely on the seller.
Note: We recommend avoiding iCloud email addresses (including iCloud alias addresses) when linking accounts for email forwarding. Apple modifies email sender and header information in a way that prevents Sync from processing these emails correctly.
For the smoothest experience, we advise you to use a Gmail or Outlook address for any purchasing accounts you connect.
Account Logins — add all purchasing accounts in Settings > Logins. Credentials must be accurate before purchases are made. If a password fails three times, the account will be flagged with a red icon. Update it immediately.
Supported primary sites for automation: Ticketmaster, AM Ticketmaster, AXS, Paciolan, SeatGeek, Tickets.com, TicketWeb, Etix, Eventbrite, Frontgate, Hollywood Bowl, Prekindle, Seated.com, Seat Engine, Telecharge, Tixr, Kimmel Center.
Note: Tixr, TicketWeb, Etix, Eventbrite, Frontgate, Prekindle, Seated.com, Seat Engine, Telecharge, Tixr, and Kimmel Center.orders are automatically listed via email forwarding, but fulfillment is not automated — you'll need to fulfill these orders manually.
Fulfillment window: If automation is fully set up on your end, our team handles fulfillment requests for events within 90 days. If the event is more than 90 days away, you'll need to fulfill manually — our team does not process fulfillment requests beyond that window.
If you're on automation but have to manually list tickets, add an internal note specifying the account so our team can still manage fulfillment from there. Do not manually add missing purchases if you're on automation — this can cause duplicate listings and result in penalties. If a purchase is missing, contact support with the email address and order number.
If the section, row, and seat numbers on your listing match tickets in your purchasing account exactly (and that purchasing account is in Sync with proper credentials), an account sweep will also populate barcode numbers and set your listing up for auto-fulfillment. If barcodes don't populate after 30 minutes, contact support — we may need to manually match the listing between Lysted and Sync.
Manual Fulfillment
Use the Fulfillment tab to manually deliver orders. Filter by "Pending" to see what needs to be fulfilled. Sort by in-hand date — that's your delivery deadline. Orders must be fulfilled with 100% accuracy: exact event, section, row, and seats. Same-day sales must be fulfilled within 15 minutes of the order.
E-Ticket / Mobile QR: Upload the PDF file(s) directly to the order in the Fulfillment tab. Files must be still images — animated barcodes cannot be uploaded and must be transferred directly.
Mobile Transfer (Ticketmaster, AXS, etc.): Log into the relevant account and transfer directly to the buyer's email that is provided on the Fulfillment tab for the order. After transferring, upload proof of transfer — this is mandatory. Without proof of transfer, the marketplace may cancel the order with penalties even if you sent the tickets.
Acceptable proof of transfer must show the event, date, section, row, seats, quantity, and recipient email address. Screenshots only — no photos of screens.
Barcode-integrated sales: For MLB, NFL, and other integrated leagues, some marketplaces require barcode numbers for delivery rather than a direct transfer. In these cases, uploading barcode numbers to the order is what's required — this still falls under the Mobile Transfer stock type.
Sales on barcode-integrated exchanges must be fulfilled via barcodes only. Wallet links, mobile transfers, and PDFs are not accepted. Note: some MLB integrated exchanges do allow direct transfer — contact support for a breakdown by marketplace.
Adding barcodes manually: You can add barcode numbers to listings directly in Lysted. If you find this process confusing or time-consuming, contact [email protected] — our team can populate barcodes through automation once your account login is added to Lysted and included in the listing's internal notes.
After updating barcodes: If you update barcode numbers on a listing, unbroadcast the listing for at least 15 minutes, then rebroadcast. This ensures marketplaces recognize the new barcodes. For Ticketmaster, the barcode may briefly show as pending validation after rebroadcast — this resolves automatically. For SeatGeek, confirm that event, section, and row mapping is correct so the listing validates properly.
Transfer Link delivery: Use the "Deliver URLs" option in the Fulfillment tab for link-based deliveries (still categorized as Stock Type Mobile Transfer).
Hard Tickets: Click Request Airbill in the Fulfillment tab — our team will generate a FedEx/UPS label. Only request when ready to ship immediately. Always use the provided label. Most marketplaces require a Must Ship By date at least 4 days before the event — do not sell hard tickets for events within 4 days
Section 2.1: Alternative Delivery Methods — Transferless Delivery
Transferless Delivery lets you deliver tickets to a buyer without transferring them out of your account. The buyer gets a secure URL to scan at the venue. This works for Rotating Barcodes, NFC tickets, and anything with an "Add to Wallet" button.
Critical warning: If you transfer a ticket you've already delivered via another method (or plan to deliver) via transferless, the buyer who attempts to enter via the transferless URL will be denied entry. Never transfer, regenerate a barcode, or take any action on a ticket you've delivered via Transferless. Also note: Transferless delivery cannot be used to fulfill barcode-integrated sales — those must be fulfilled via barcodes.
As of December 3, 2024, transferless delivery for AXS, TM Account Manager, SeatGeek, and Paciolan must go through the Secure My Pass (SMP) integration.
SecureMyPass (SMP) Setup:
1. Create and fund an account at securemypass.com (billed per link, not per sale)
2. Generate an API key in your SMP Profile settings
3. Register it in Lysted under Settings > Keys > Secure My Pass Token
4. Add internal note SMPWALLET to listings that you want fulfilled via SMP (add NOTNOW as well - NOTNOW is a Ticketmaster exclusion note that prevents the listing from broadcasting to TM - since Ticketmaster doesn't accept wallet links)
5. For non-transferable events (e.g., Billie Eilish, Noah Kahan), use SMPMANUALBIND instead
SMP per-ticket pricing (via Lysted integration):
Platform | Price Per Ticket |
TM | $0.85 |
AM.TM | $1.25 |
SeatGeek | $2.25 |
Paciolan | $2.25 |
Ballpark | $2.25 |
AXS | $5 |
TM Binding | $10 |
If an order is at risk of being broken - for example, the marketplace notifies our fulfillment team that the order will be cancelled if not filled - our team is authorized to override any wallet notes and fulfill the order by any available means necessary, regardless of any SELLER WILL FILL note on the listing. This typically applies within 48 hours of the event, but can apply sooner if we receive a fulfill-or-cancel notice from the marketplace.
Adding the SELLER WILL FILL internal note means you're taking sole responsibility for fulfillment - but it does not guarantee our team won't step in if the order is at risk of cancellation. If you use this note, plan to fulfill promptly.
Fan-to-Fan (F2F) events are Ticketmaster events where Tradedesk transfers are disabled - either by artist request or due to state law - meaning barcode transfer isn't available, and the only delivery options are account transfers or SMP. Because F2F events require Mobile Transfer, SMS verification must be registered on the account. If SMS isn't registered, SMP must be set up instead. If neither is in place, our team will use our own SMP account and charge you accordingly. Add SELLER WILL FILL to internal notes if you prefer to handle it yourself.
Note: SMS forwarding isn't a general account requirement, but it can also come up during troubleshooting in a few other cases — logging into AXS accounts, MLB forwarding, and Ticketmaster account transfers when Tradedesk isn't enabled. For more information on how to setup SMS forwarding, please see the help article here.
Section 2.2: Retransfer Requests
A retransfer request happens when your buyer can't access the tickets originally sent to them — it could be due to a wrong email, a clerical error on the original send, or simply a case where nothing went wrong on either side but the buyer still doesn't have usable tickets (platform glitch, app issue, transfer that silently failed to land). It can also happen when a buyer needs the tickets redirected to a different email than the one originally used. In short: a retransfer request isn't an indication that you or the buyer did anything wrong — it's the marketplace's mechanism for making sure the buyer ends up with tickets.
These requests come from the marketplaces (Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, etc.) on behalf of their buyers. As partners of the marketplaces, we're held to their requirements, and we do our best to mitigate these issues for our sellers — but from time to time we need your assistance to get it resolved. When we reach out asking you to reprocess a transfer, we're relaying that requirement to you.
If your order was properly set up on automation, we do everything in our power to perform the retransfer on your behalf, and we'll only reach out when we need you to step in. If you're handling retransfers yourself, follow these steps to resolve it quickly and protect your sale:
Verify the original transfer. Confirm it wasn't sent to the wrong email or affected by a clerical error, so the issue doesn't repeat.
Cancel or recall the original transfer on the platform it was sent from to free up the tickets. This matters most for Ticketmaster and SeatGeek, where the retransfer can fail if the original isn't cleared first.
Retransfer the tickets through the official platform, using the buyer name and email from our outreach — not the original details.
Capture proof showing the buyer's email and a transfer timestamp. A screenshot of the platform's confirmation email works; if none is available, screenshot the confirmation inside the ticketing app instead.
Submit proof by replying to our fulfillment team's original email. Can't find it? Contact support with the order number.
Note: These requirements originate on the marketplace's end — they're the ones who initiate the request and treat a failure to retransfer as grounds for a broken order and associated penalties. Marketplaces can also shorten delivery deadlines at their discretion based on the urgency of the request, buyer complaints, and similar factors, so if you're handling retransfers yourself, process the request as soon as you receive it. If you'd rather we handle retransfers on your behalf, we highly recommend getting set up with automation.
Section 3: Payments
Payment structures:
Pay After Event (default): Sales are eligible for payout 10 days after the event date to allow time to investigate buyer claims. Payment is then issued on the next Monday cycle, with funds arriving Tuesday (Wednesday if Monday is a banking holiday).
Pay on Delivery (earned): Available to sellers with 6+ payments totaling $50,000+ in the last 12 months. Payment processes approximately two weeks after delivery, regardless of event date.
Payment terms are determined by selling history, transaction volume, and fault rate. Excessive cancelled orders, replacement requests, or communication issues may result in modified terms.
Payment statuses in the Sales tab:
Pending (white) — marketplace hasn't paid yet
Processing (yellow) — received from marketplace; pays out next cycle
Pending Event Date (blue) — waiting for the 10-day post-event window
Paid (green) — sent to you
Remittances are typically uploaded every Monday by 10 AM PT as Excel files in the Remittances tab. If nothing is uploaded by Tuesday morning, you likely had no eligible sales that cycle.
Upon your first payment, you'll receive an activation email from [email protected] — click Activate
Verify using your Pay Portal ID from Lysted Settings
Select Individual or Business (use Business for EINs, including single-member LLCs)
Enter taxpayer info that exactly matches your tax return
Add your bank account under Add Transfer Method
Payments must be claimed within 6 months — expired links are returned to Lysted and can be regenerated within 2–3 weeks. 12-month lookback limit applies for payment inquiries.
Tax Reporting Obligations
By receiving payments through Lysted, you may be issued a Form 1099 reporting your sales activity to the IRS, subject to applicable sales volume and transaction thresholds required by law. Prior to claiming payments, you are required to provide a Form W-9 through Hyperwallet. The name, EIN, or SSN you enter must match your tax return exactly — inaccurate information will be rejected during Hyperwallet's verification process and may delay or withhold your payments.
It is your responsibility to comply with all applicable local, state, and federal tax laws. Lysted does not withhold any funds for tax payment purposes. For more information, refer to the Terms of Service.
Section 4: When You Can't Deliver
Sales on Lysted cannot be cancelled. Marketplaces guarantee their buyers their purchases will be fulfilled. If you cannot fulfill, we are still required to provide tickets.
Note: You are never authorized to contact buyers or exchanges directly. All communication must go through Lysted support. Direct contact may result in permanent removal from the platform.
The Replacement Process:
If you can't fill an order, contact support immediately. If you own tickets in the same section at the same or better row (within 5 rows), you can deliver those as replacements without contacting us first.
Special case — Ticketmaster Resale (TM+): TM+ does not follow the 5-row standard. They guarantee exact section, row, and seat numbers. Any deviation — even a better seat — must be submitted to our support team, who will open a case through the seller portal. This opens the sale for cancellation with penalty at TM's discretion.
If replacement tickets fall outside the same section or beyond 5 rows, the tickets must first be offered to the exchange by our team, then accepted by the buyer before you deliver. In order to provide the best experience for their buyers, marketplaces allow only one replacement offer per order. Additionally, any offer made outside the acceptable range of same section within 5 rows signals that you don't have the original tickets, and the order may be cancelled at that point, at the buyer's or marketplace's discretion.
In the event you need help sourcing replacements, please let our team know so the Lysted team can work to attempt to source replacements at the lowest cost available, up to 400% of the original sale price to protect marketplace seller rates. In these instances, the cost of the replacement tickets that Lysted purchases will be passed on to you.
When an order requires replacement, the Lysted replacements team will send an automated notification alerting you that we intend to source tickets on your behalf. If you plan to find replacements yourself or already have them, you must respond to that notification — or contact support directly at [email protected] — within 24 hours. Otherwise our team will move forward with the sourcing process. This window does not apply if the event is within 24 hours.
Important constraints:
We cannot give you a cost estimate in advance
Because the market is dynamic and moves quickly, we cannot notify you before purchasing replacements
Replacements sourced by our team are often cheaper than penalties
If replacements are successfully delivered, you will still receive payment on the original sale. Replacement costs are deducted from future remittances as a line item.
Note on replacement cost vs. original sale price: If the cost of replacements is less than the original sale price, Lysted will cover the cost and fulfill the order — however, you will not receive payment on that sale. If the cost of replacements exceeds the sale price, the difference will be charged to your next remittance or invoiced directly.
Penalties:
The marketplaces apply penalties when replacements can't be found or the buyer declines out-of-section replacements. The typical penalty range applied by marketplaces is 100–200% of the original sale price, on top of any amounts already paid; for high-profile events, penalties may exceed this range. Separately, Lysted will source replacements up to 400% of the original sale price before allowing an order to cancel — meaning if our team sources replacements, the cost charged back to you can reach up to 400% of the sale price. Penalties are charged to your next remittance or invoiced directly if the remittance is insufficient.
Disputing a Penalty:
If you believe a penalty was applied in error, send proof of transfer to [email protected], including event details, recipient email, and a timestamp confirming the transfer was completed.
Cancelled or Postponed Events
In the event of a primary event cancellation or postponement (e.g., the show is cancelled or rescheduled by the venue), your obligations and payout eligibility may be affected. Reach out to Lysted support as soon as possible — these situations are handled on a case-by-case basis and may qualify for an exception. See Cancelled / Postponed Events for full guidance.
Selling successfully on Lysted comes down to three things: accurate listings, timely fulfillment, and communication through the right channels. When those are in place, our team can do a lot of the heavy lifting. When something goes wrong, we'll work with you to resolve it — but the faster you reach out, the more options we have. Our support team is available at [email protected] and is your first call for anything not covered here.
