What are passkeys?

Passkeys are a new type of login credential that entirely replaces passwords. Unlike like passwords, you do not need to try and remember a string with 8-32 characters, one uppercase, one lowercase, and one number, and a special character from a limited list. Passkeys are stored on your smartphone, tablet, or computer and are protected by biometrics like Face ID, Touch ID, or your device PIN. There is no such thing as a weak passkey.

Most importantly, without physical access to your devices (and a way to unlock them) no one can log in to your passkey-protected accounts.

Additionally, passkeys cannot be phished.

How do passkeys work?

Here are a few resources to walk you through how passkeys work:

How Do I Create My Automatiq Passkey?

  1. At the login page [https://login.automatiq.com] log in normally using your username, password, and MFA. After logging in, you will see the page to create a passkey. Note: If you do NOT see this page, you may have previously clicked "Don't show me this again". You will need to wait 30 days from that time to see the prompt again.

  2. Click Create a Passkey

3. Choose where to save the passkey. Options may differ depending on your device hardware capability and installed apps. Please do this on any additional device you use to log into Automatiq. See the Resources below for links to instructions for your password manager, device, or operating system.

4. Test your Passkey. Log off your current session and log back in. Input your email and click Continue with Passkey.
